Founded in 1872, this is the only soy sauce brewery in Nagato. For over a century, they have upheld traditional brewing methods, using cedar barrels for fermentation and working with dedication to craft rich, authentic flavors.
On this tour, you’ll witness the brewing process firsthand and even participate in stirring (kai-ire) and pressing (funashibori), key steps in traditional soy sauce-making.
At the end of the tour, enjoy a tasting session featuring soy sauce and miso. The brewery also offers a variety of artisanal products, including soy sauce, miso, and unique goods like handcrafted tenugui towels and tote bags.
As a special souvenir, you will receive either a “Shin-chan Set” or a handmade tenugui towel. Experience the time-honored craft of soy sauce brewing and take home a taste of Nagato’s rich culinary heritage.
