What was the reason you decided to move into SOIL?
Around the time the SOIL Nihonbashi project was progressing, Kiraku was also shifting more towards remote work, and we wanted to simplify our office setup. SOIL had great conditions in terms of accessibility and cost-cutting. Moreover, the projects that Staple undertakes are always interesting, and knowing that SOIL Nihonbashi was originally a building the owner was struggling to utilize, and seeing it transformed into a stylish café and cool office space, we decided to move in.
Can you tell us about Kiraku’s philosophy and projects?
Our philosophy is to rediscover assets that have been overlooked and undervalued by the local community. We undertake regeneration projects aimed at ensuring things that have lasted 100 years in that area will continue for another 100 years.
Do you have any ideas to deepen connections within SOIL Nihonbashi?
Although most of our employees work remotely and I live in Kyoto (laughs), I think it would be great to have more workshops or events where we can casually drink and socialize in the evenings. Having a place where we can discuss ideas while enjoying finger foods would help generate more ideas within SOIL.
